I love Halifax graveyards! You know, I used to break into the big one by the Public Gardens all the time; they lock the gates at night, but I was little enough that I could slip between the bars, so I used to take a shortcut through it on my way home from downtown.

(And saying 'v' is not incorrect, either, actually - that is the Scottish way. I just use the Irish pronunciation here because the Scottish version refers to the whole month of November and the Irish is just for Hallowe'en. :) )

I knew Hallowe'en would get a post out of ya.

I was about to defend B-water's graveyeard as spooky, but other than that family crypt by the entrance, it is actually a very nice little park. I used to go there with Jono on some of our legendary trans-Bridgewater walks every once in awhile. I just lived a quick walk away -- through my neighbour's yard.

It's hard to beat Halifax's graveyards for spooky, especially the Old Burying Ground with its death's head stones and the knowledge that many graves are unmarked.

I also enjoyed the pronunciation tip for Samhain. I have been pronouncing "mh" as "v" all this time, but I just learned about slender and broad vowels.

P.S. that photo in the post -- hot.

Haha, poor Mr. Sparks ;)

And I am also working on a novel that uses the term: "The Clean Sparkling Wings of Desire" - it's a fantasy-romance about a man that falls in love with a very clean angel, so clean that he is afraid to even touch her. It is only at the climax of the novel - her heartbroken over his lack of intimacy, him torn by his longing for her - that she reveals the secret of her cleanliness.

Product placement -- in a book??? I would laugh if it wasn't so pathetic and annoying. I have come to expect it in movies, but in a world full of "brand names" and logos, it really doesn't leap out at you anymore.

I did think of a way to use that much-loathed term in a book. Here's an excerpt from my, as yet untitled work. It's a bit of a "Fight Club" rip-off, but you get the idea.

Finally, my plan was ready to go. My army of willing recruits had pulled the last of the trucks in place --one in front of every major ad agency on Madison Avenue. The tests had been very successful. The addtition of all-purpose kitchen cleaner to the mixture of liquid fertilizer had increased the explosive powers twofold. All that remained was to hit the detonator...

I think I solved your "Andea" mystery blog-stalker...well, mystery. No, it's not me.

I was checking out the ol' Twitter page when I noticed your blog website URL is wrong and is spelled "Andea".

You probably figured this out weeks ago -- you're quite clever.
